Ilchester Scout Evening

The club is always looking at ways to promote the club and how to bring juniors back into fishing.

We have looked into some options and have decided that the best way to start would be to help out with local scout groups and help them get the fishing badge. With this in mind on the 3rd of March a few committee members and members of the fishing club went out to meet Ilchester scout group. We set up a good variety of fishing tackle and baits and spent two hours with the group. We showed bait demonstrations, we went over terminal tackle with them and how it all works. We also showed them how to put rods together.

It was a very successful evening and very much enjoyed by all, as can be seen from a few photos that were taken. We have had permission to use these pictures. We are making steps they may be small but it is a start. Hopefully we can make gains on this and in the future be able to run big open days for all family members to attend.
